Simple Slippers by Cori 2011. |
Huzzah for warm toes! |
Pattern: Simple Slippers by my mom
Yarn: Red Heart Soft in Guacamole and Turquoise (one skein of each, worked with a a strand of each color at the same time)
Needles: Size 7 (double-pointed straights)
I finished these up last night. My first knitting project, wow. They took me a little under a week to make, and I couldn't be happier with them. They came out a little bit long for my feet, but I seem to remember that that is actually normal for this pattern and that after a few washes they should stretch right on into the perfect shape. If not, no biggie, I will know to make the next pair a few rows shorter. They are not without their flaws, but I made them and that makes them awesome. (Almost as awesome as the ones my mom made me, but not quite.) This really is a super easy pattern and I suspect I will be making many, many more pairs of these in the years to come.
Also, my feet were super warm and cozy last night.
I win.
Congratulations! I knew you could do it.
